Having Fun with Veils

I am very excited to spend tomorrow at the Wedding Place for the 9th Semi-Annual Veil and Headpiece Extravaganza. I got a sneak peak of some of the unique designs available and I will say that there will a lot of headpieces and veils for brides. The veils are brand new almost all are available to buy on the spot at great prices.

I can’t wait to see all of the girls getting their hair and makeup done (for free) before trying on all of the lovely accessories! Halls Takes the Cake is providing sweet treats for all in attendance. The Wedding Place will also look divine with all the fresh flowers from One of a Kind Events and designer, Linda Maggert, will be on hand for any questions. My favorite part is that I will be there providing holiday tunes as well as handling logistics for the event. I will also be able to answer any questions about your ceremony and reception questions.

Tickets are $5 per person and if you have already purchased your wedding gown from The Wedding Place, you get 2 tickets FREE! Either way, you must have an appointment for this fun event! Just call The Wedding Place 260-482-1250 to get on the schedule! I hope to see you there.

Give Thanks

Somewhere crammed between Halloween and Christmas is Thanksgiving. Poor Thanksgiving is unfortunately lost between two major holidays. What other holiday has a 90% off sale six full days BEFORE the actual date? I love Hobby Lobby and was quite grateful that they had Thanksgiving merchandise at such a “buy-me” price point.

But for the real reason for me writing today…

Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks and be grateful for what one has and of course eat turkey and other comfort foods. As you see, giving thanks should be celebrated all of the time. Whether the economy is on the up or the down of the rollercoaster, being appreciative is important every day. We too often forget that our enthusiasm should be directed to having “things” such as freedom, the rights that American citizens are afforded, freedom of speech and to practice the religion of our choice, and so many other “things.”

So I take today and each day to privately say a “thank-you” for all that I have in this world. And I take this Thursday to publicly give thanks. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Fashion Show from a New Perspective

I got to help out my friends at the Wedding Place yesterday. I was in charge of the “tea-room” style fashion show at the Sycamore Hills Golf Club bridal event.

What does that mean for a person who is used to playing music and MC’ing a runway show? It means making sure the models arrive, get their dresses in order, show them the logistics of the room, go over the commentary and music with the DJ, and make sure they look “put together” when they hit the runway.

With the help of dressers and staff, and only one zipper malfunction, we shared lovely bridal fashions and bridesmaids attire with the brides and their guests. It certainly takes a well-balanced team to create such a beautiful presentation. It is a very thrilling to fluff Tomi’s trains as she modeled the bridal gowns. All and all it made for a new experience to add to my collection.
